Taste of Tribeca 2013

An opportunity to try some of NYC's top restaurants at the Taste of Tribeca Festival? Sign us up!

Trent and I were so thrilled that we had tickets to this year's Taste of Tribeca. I've heard about it before but never made it downtown to check out. This year, rain or shine (mostly rain) we were there!

Taste of Tribeca is a festival of food and festivities aimed at raising money to support the arts programs of some of the local schools - PS 150 and PS 234 (being an lover of the arts - works for me!)

We weren't very picture happy unfortunately because the skies were gloomy, but the food was amazing and we literally had to roll ourselves home afterward.

How it worked:
- We each had a ticket which numbers 1 - 6 -- this allowed for 6 "tastes." Because we had two tickets, we ended up with a whopping 12 tastes! This is what we chose!

1. Bubby's Pie Co: Rhubarb Apple Brown Betty
2. Dirty Bird To Go: Buttermilk Dipped Chicken Fingers
3. Kutsher's Tribeca: KT Pastrami on Rye with Creamy Cole Slaw
4. SuperLinda: Beef Short Rib Taco Yucca Puree with Ancho Chile & Charred Corn, Pickled Red Cabbage
5. Ward III: Duck Tacos
6. Max Restaurant: Homemade Prcini Ravioli with Truffle Cream Sauce
7. Tribeca Canvas: Hamachi tacos
8 & 9. The Odeon Restaurant: Housemade All Natural Ice Cream
10. Maxwell's: Smothered Chipotle BBQ Prk Slider and Macaroni & Cheese
11 Tribeca Grill: Batter-Up Fried Chicken with Cornbread
12. Terroir Tribeca: Mini Pulled Pork with Purple Cole Slaw

Our favorite hands down was the Pastrami on Rye and the Batter-Up Fried Chicken! I'm pretty sure they'll be seeing us dining with them again!

Weekend Recap - Top of the World!

Well, so ends another weekend. Thankfully the beautiful weather on Sunday made up for the horrific monsoon I had to venture out in on Saturday. But, I had a bride/groom who needed me! So I suited up (read: black dress, raincoat, rain boots) to head up to the top of Trump Soho. Check out some snapshots from the evening. If you ever have the opportunity to either host an event there or attend an event there, be sure to go! You literally feel like you are on top of the world - there are literally no other tall buildings around the hotel, so the views are pretty amazing.

Fun Fact -- The Washington Capitols just so happen to be staying in the hotel this weekend as well, so walking into a lobby filled with big male athletes was a great start to the event!

Nice to look up and see this.

Heading to the top...of course!

Love the Sunset.

Really cool ceiling. Love the blue.

DJ!

I spy....Nice to see the Trade Center

So the weather was really rough on Saturday, but I was so happy the skies were able to clear up in time for the couple to have the party of their lives! So happy to have been a part of it!

Favorite Movie/TV Brides!

For today's post - I was actually inspired by a post I read on TheBerry (love this site!) - Memorable Movie Brides.

If you know me; I love a good wedding. Heck, I plan them for a living (among other parties/events)....so being that it's Spring Wedding Season, I figured I'd jump on board and share some of my favorite brides you may have seen on the big (or little) screen!!

Who do you love? ...
Kate and Anne in Bride Wars

Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias

Bridesmaids! Duh!

Steve Martin & Father of the Bride!

Kristen Stewart - Twilight

Reese in Sweet Home Alabama (Love the birdcage veil)

Monica & Chandler - FRIENDS
The Notebook!
Ah - Erica Kane & Dimitri

Fav! Kelly and Zack 4Ever
The ever fashion-forward Carrie from Sex & the City

I would have loved to have planned any of these weddings - real life or not! I have to say...I'm pretty excited about the brides I'm working with this year, and cannot WAIT to see their dreams come true!

#TheDollhouse Target's Threshold Collection

Every once in a while, NYC throws you a bone - and gives you something really cool to spice up the day. When Trent and I heard that Target had built a Dollhouse in Grand Central's Vanderbilt Hall, we had to take a quick detour on our way to work this morning and check it out!

On May 6th and May 7th from 7am - 7pm; #TheDollhouse lit up Vanderbilt Hall! Check it out below! Don't you love the fact that this entire house was furnished and put together solely with the Threshold line. Kudos Target!! I'll take one of everything.

Entrance to #TheDollhouse

I love the bedroom! All of the colors are so fun!

Sneak peak at the second floor!

Love the outdoor patio across the hall. Love the cherry blossom!

Cinderall wore a ... nose ring?

If you live in NYC and are even just the slightest tuned in to the fashion world then you most definitely know about the annual Met Ball!

The annual Met Gala kicks off the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute exhibit. This year the theme was....

PUNK: CHAOS TO COUTURE.

Only the best of the best, the hottest of the hottest, and the coolest of cool attend this extravaganza! And while I'm so sad that our invitation got lost in the mail this year (I have to talk to the post office about this), I was totally stoked to see how the guests played up the theme of PUNK.

Having had the worst Monday morning ever (read: "Due to a sick passenger at 77th street, there is no downtown service...yadda yadda = super late for work!), as soon as I got home, I was glued to my Instagram and Twitter to see this year's looks!

Check out below! What do you think of these ladies' punk looks? Can they pull it off?

Warning: While there are several photos here - I literally could fill 20 blog posts with all of the crazysexycool high fashion that happened at this year's ball!

Anne Hathaway

My fav! Emmy Rossum

Mrs Giuliana Rancic

Love! Julianne Hough

Miley Cyrus...probably not too much of a stretch for her.

Nicole Richie - Not crazy about the died hair, I have to say.

Taylor Swift

Katie Holmes

Kimye...Kim & Kanye - He looks great...she looks like...well mess.

Ivanka Trump tweeted this last night before heading to the gala - digging the colored hair streaks.

Just Jared and Huffington Post did a great job of keeping updated on the minute to minute looks (and for providing the photos)!
